“France is not as expensive as you might think.” This was the message professed by Dave Watts, Editor of the Where to Ski & Snowboard guidebook and Executive Editor of Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard magazine at yesterday’s launch of the 2012 guidebook.
Watts went on to give the example of the £100 six-day lift pass available to visitors to Ste-Foy-Tarantaise. A bargain compared to the £300 plus that visitors to many North American resorts can expect to fork out. The figures were lifted from a Resort Price Index, devised by the book’s editorial team to help readers compare the price of a holiday in different resorts. The team has collated prices for each of the major resorts in Europe and North America, based on the cost of lift passes, equipment hire, ski or snowboard lessons and food and drink. Read More
